B.Sc. Nursing

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) is an undergraduate degree that prepares students for careers in nursing and healthcare. The curriculum, which usually lasts four years, combines theoretical instruction with hands-on learning to give students the skills they need to practise nursing. A wide range of topics are covered in B.Sc. nursing programmes, such as psychology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, and nursing ethics. In order to obtain practical experience in patient care, students also participate in clinical rotations in community settings, hospitals, and clinics. The course places a strong emphasis on the leadership, communication, and critical thinking abilities necessary to provide high-quality healthcare. Nursing graduates with a bachelor’s degree have the opportunity to work in a variety of healthcare environments, including community health centres, assisted living facilities, and hospitals, after obtaining their licence to practise as registered nurses (RNs). Additionally, B.Sc. in Nursing provides students with a pathway to advance their nursing careers and make significant contributions to healthcare by serving as a foundation for further specialization in areas like paediatrics, critical care, and mental health nursing.

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

Students enrolled in the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma programme are prepared for careers in nursing and midwifery. GNM programmes offer a thorough curriculum covering a variety of topics related to nursing care, midwifery, and healthcare, and typically last for three years. Important topics including anatomy, physiology, microbiology, nutrition, pharmacology, and nursing ethics are taught to students.

GNM programmes place a strong emphasis on practical training through clinical rotations in maternity wards, hospitals, and community health settings. This is one of their main features. Students receive practical experience in providing nursing care to patients of all ages during these rotations, including infants, kids, adults, and the elderly. Additionally, they acquire the knowledge and abilities needed to support women during childbirth and offer mothers and newborns prenatal and postnatal care.

Graduates of the GNM programme are qualified to apply for licensure as midwives and registered nurses (RNs) upon successful completion of the programme. They can seek employment opportunities in public health organisations, maternity clinics, nursing homes, and hospitals, where they will play vital roles in preventing disease, promoting health, and providing compassionate care to individuals and families. All things considered, GNM programmes provide a fulfilling educational path for people who are enthusiastic about midwifery and nursing, empowering them to significantly impact the provision of healthcare.
