BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)

The five-year undergraduate Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery programme is known as BAMS. Ayurvedic medicine is admitted to and practiced in India under the auspices of the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM). Registration for NEET, which is used for BAMS admission, opened on February 9, 2024.

Students must have passed class 12 Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum of 50–60% cumulatively in order to be eligible for BAMS courses. Be aware that admission to BAMS is contingent upon passing the NEET.

Over a period of five years and six months, the BAMS Syllabus is divided into four professional categories. Among the BAMS Subjects are Maulik Siddhant Avum Ashtang Hridaya, Padartha Vigyan, Ayurved Itihas, and Dravyaguna Vigyan.

Admissions Procedure for BAMS

  • The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery programme selectively selects students based on their performance on the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET).
  • NEET is required in India in order to be admitted to many medical programmes, including MBBS and the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery.
  • Following the NEET exam, centralised NEET counselling is held to determine which students who pass the exam will be admitted to different medical science courses based on how well they performed on the entrance exam (NEET).
  • Several colleges also conduct interviews before admitting students to the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery programme.
